Caberg Konda Helmet

I ride a BMW R45 with windscreen, was really pleased with the Caberg Trip I purchased Jan 2009 until I had an accident with it in March 2009 but it survived a Headbutt with a car at an estimated 30+ mph.

Due to finances (and no visible damage) I continued to use it until I was pointed to the SHARP Rating here in the UK and was not surprised with the 5 star rating against the 3/4 stars of the Scuberth and HJC I "Was" considering as replacements.

So when I went on the Caberg website and found they had a replacement for the Trip called the Caberg Konda out for 2010. I went around to all my local Bike shops to see if they stocked it.

After looking at it I could immediately see they had improved on all the areas I had slight issues with (i.e. at 60-70 mph the wind passes over my screen right into the top of the visor on the Trip, causing it to vibrate and open slightly and if pushed open the turbulance also caused it to close).

I put this down to heavy usage being that I use mine daily and mostly ride with the visor chin bar assembly in the upright position.

Fair credit to Caberg they have installed a locking tab at the base of the visor to stop this happening, the padding also feels more cosy and better for it, and the turbulance over the helmet now rides smoother so unlike the trip my fillings don't want to fall out when travelling at motorway speeds.

After using it now for nearly a month, it still feels like it's new although the elastic holding the chinstrap padding semi in place has broken at the seam (i think it was me forgetting it was attached and pulled it into place like i did on the trip).

Overall I give the Caberg Konda Helmet 9 out of 10 and I can't wait for their next improvements!
