The first thing you'll notice about the KBC FFR when wearing it is the weight. At 1865 grams its an exceptionally heavy helmet. The majority of the helmets weight lies in its Visor Latch System, which unlike the majority of flip helmets uses a lot of metal.Despite being made of metal this does not mean that the KBC FFR is any more protective than other plastic flip up helmets. KBC have stated that the helmet "Meets or Exceeds All major worldwide safety standards and tests" and has been approved by DOT but not Snell Safety standards in the US.
