Flip Up Motorcycle Helmets
Your guide to flip up motorcycle helmets
Flip up motorcycle helmets are the best choice if you don't enjoy having to take off your full face helmet everytime you stop. They are also known as Flip Front, Modular or System helmets.
Flip up helmets are very similar to full face motorcycle helmets. The style is popular touring riders and commuters.
Why buy a flip up motorcycle helmet?
Flip up helmet safety
Flip up motorcycle helmets are tested for safety in the same way as full face motorcycle helmets. There are currently 3 flip up helmets that have a 5 out of 5 SHARP rating. These are the BMW System 5, Caberg Trip & Caberg Konda.
Price
There is a flip up helmet to fit any budget. The prices range from £60 all the way up to £460. Spending more money on a helmet doesn't mean it will be the safest. The 3 helmets mentioned above range from around £90 up to about £250 but all have a 5 star SHARP safety rating.
Flexibility
This style of helmet offers the most flexibility while riding. Some of the Caberg range of flip up helmets (the Caberg Justissimo GT & Caberg Sintesi) come with a 'Jet' conversion kit which means they can be used as open face helmets when needed.
