Ditched AGV for Arai!

Just became the proud owner of a new Arai RX7 GP Nakano Sakura rep. Have been wearing AGVs for the last three years, going from a Ti Tech to S4 to a beautiful Rossi rep GP Tech. All these helmets were fine, but the GP Tech was especially disappointing, costing £470 and losing its solid, comfortable fit after about four months and only then finding out AGV have already stopped making alternative sized cheek pads (for a helmet that is only a couple of years old!!!). How can Rossi put his name to that?! Money i'm guessing!

The RX7 GP is a breath of fresh air. Never gone for Arai before and not really sure why, but it fits like a glove and has plenty of after market custom sized pads for when the helmet beds in if needed. The only downside if any is that the wind noise is slightly harsher than any helmet i've ever worn, but will start wearing ear plugs if need be. The ventilation is really noticeable and has plenty of adjustability in that area. Also included is a pinlock visor which for my money is one of the best helmet add ons. The quality of the finish is exceptional and the paint job is the best i've ever seen. I've always been a fan of the Nakano reps, and this one is the finest. Was especially happy about the fact that it's got an almost pearlescent, metallic finish.

All in all an incredible buy and if you hunt around you can get a good deal. I've just taken mine from Infinity Motorcycles, with £100 off for an old helmet trade in and also using a £50 voucher leaving me with £430 to pay. Happy with that. And it looks very cool!

I ride an '02 Aprilia RSV Mille R, Corser Rep and the helmet suits the bike very well.
