AGV
helmets was started in 1946. Originally a leather seat and bicycle saddle
manufacturer, the company became AGV Helmets in 1947.AGV Helmet Common Features
Quick Release Visor System
AGV helmets use a system called XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) for their
visors. This system makes it very quick and easy to change an AGV helmet visor.
Visor Ratchet System
Although each AGV visor has an anti-fog system, in certain weather conditions an
AGV helmet may still mist up. The ratchet system holds the visor open at various
angles so that the helmet visor can be almost closed, while still letting enough
air in to clear the fog.
Ventilation
Each AGV helmet has a front air intake system (usually front mouth vent and 2
head vents) and an air extraction system (normally 2 vents on the top rear of
the AGV helmet).
Comfort Padding
The inside padding of AGV helmets are made for comfort and
hygienically treated to help keep each helmet clean inside.
High Quality Shell Materials
AGV helmets are made from Fibreglass or thermoplastic resin. Both of these
materials are very strong, but help to absorb impact. They are also quite light
so you'll never feel like you are wearing a ton of bricks around your neck!
Other Features
When buying an AGV helmet you can expect to find an anti-scratch, anti-fog
visor. A double D adjustment strap and removable, washable padding. You'll also
find front and rear air intakes/extractors.
Popular AGV Motorcycle Helmet Models
1. AGV K3 Helmet
The K3 is one of the most widely available AGV motorcycle helmet models.
Available in sizes XS/S/M/L/XL/XXL, this motorbike helmet model is very
affordable and a very nice beginner to pro helmet. The AGV K3 has over 10
different finishes - if you choose this model you're spoilt for choice!
K Series Helmet Owners Guide
The AGV K series helmets have a lot of features and offer really good value for
money.
Some wearers have complained that at higher speeds the wind noise is very loud,
so ear plugs are definitely a must.
If you ride a sportsbike you might find that the helmet makes your head move
around a lot. This is because the air bouncing off of the screen into your
helmet doesn't get handled very well by the AGV K series. If you ride your
Sportsbike very regularly you might prefer the AGV Stealth helmet.

K3 Helmet Replacement Parts
If you drop or have a crash in your AGV K3 helmet, you will need to buy a new
one. Never keep on using the helmet after this as it won't offer any protection
if you have another crash.
The only parts on an AGV helmet that are replaceable if they wear out are the
visor and visor mechanism. Spare visors don't cost very much compared to the
price of the K3 helmet.
These are available from your local AGV motorcycle helmet dealer.
